Our customer, an inventor, and enthusiastic duck hunter, approached Midwest Rubber with an idea for hands-free duck calls. Rather than having to hold the duck call in one hand and his shotgun in the other, he wanted to invent a foot-operated duck call, allowing the hunter to keep both hands on his gun. The new design concept involved replacing the mouthpiece to accommodate a foot-operated bellows design.
This concept required significant redesign of a standard call, but our innovative team was up to the challenge. Midwest Rubber designed, through trial and error, a unique bellows system to produce the appropriate volume of air via foot pressure to produce just the right call. Using our dip molded manufacturing process, the duck call was made of neoprene, a material that would work within a wide range of temperatures and weather conditions. The finalized duck call has been a great success.
